  TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE....they do not have a clue as to what they are doing, you fax information to them and then you have to fax it 2-3 more times before the right person gets it, they do not know tax law. They filed a return for a State that we didn't owe money to and wound up with over a $10,000 tax bill with that state. After we made several payments to that State we contacted the state and discussed our situation with them and they even agreed that we did not need to file a return in their state. We went back to this company for an amended return and it took them 5-6 weeks to get it done and then mailed the amended return to the wrong department. On the advice of Steve Pace we stopped making the payments and the state placed us for collection and took a lien against our home which prevented us from getting a home equity loan. We have been dealing with the collection agency for the state since the middle of August and the situation is still not resolved. If you google "Steve Pace" you will see where he is also listed as a CPA WHICH HE IS NOT. I checked the CPA registry for NC and he is not listed as a licensed CPA for the state of NC. The majority of the people employed here are not professional or ethical. They filed 2010, 2011 & 2012 tax returns for us and 2011 & 2012 were not filed like 2010. They even wanted to charge us for filing an amended return for 2010 due to their ignorance. Their billing is a nightmare to the point that they can't even tell you what it is. On the 3rd tax years return they acted like the IRS. The job of a paid tax preparer is to use the information that you give them not ask for proof of every deduction and credit. A paid tax preparer (which is what this company is) responsibility is to advise you that if you should be audited to make sure that you have all the documentation to back up the information that you have given them. We do not know when or if we will ever get our money back from the State of Ohio or how soon the lien will be removed against our property. Do not listen to these people about any tax advantages, we did and now we find out that what they advised us to do is not the best tax solution for us. It is companies like this that keep H & R Block going strong.
